Fats Oils and Grease, What are they?
The fats and oils of vegetable or animal origin are triglycerides or also called esters (1 alcohol + 1 acid) of glycerin.
Generally, when a triglyceride is solid at room temperature is known as fat, and if present as said liquid is an oil.
-
They are the No. 1 cause of spills, blockages and pollution in public sewer systems.
-
The daily entry of FOG into the public network produces grease cakes and plugs in pipes and pump stations.
-
Blocked drains cause flooding in case of rain.
-
It generates bad smells and complaints from neighbors.
-
In hotels and restaurants without sewage service, fats and oils cause clogging and disable septic tanks, generating the need for costly and frequent flushing.
-
In Mexico, the maximum limit allowed for dumping is 15 mg/l monthly average and 25 mg/l daily (NOM-003-ECOL-1997)
Treatment of FOG (Fat Oil & Grease) (Vegetable and animal fats and oils) .
CMFOG
CMFOG is a non-toxic and biodegradable product that accelerates the natural cleaning process in industrial and domestic applications.
FCMFOG dissolves fats, oils and fat, which are a constant problem in wastewater treatment to date; controlling odor and eliminating clogs, overflows, spills and fines; significantly reducing operating expenses.
Produces the following benefits:
-
Completely dissolves fats and oils (FOG) accumulated in pipes and pump stations.
-
The dissolved mixture does not re-coagulate downstream, remaining dissolved all the way to the treatment plant where it helps reduce the fat and oil components in the harvesting process.
-
Generates stability in pH (7.5 - 9 pH).
-
Helps settling activated sludge.
-
The activated sludge supernatant has been confirmed by the Ceridaphnia Test to be non-toxic at a concentration of 100%.
An additional benefit of the application of the CMFOG is the elimination of bad odors from the Wastewater Treatment plants. By removing the interface between water and fat that bacteria use as a feeding area, they stop the emission of hydrogen sulfide gases (H2S), resulting in an additional benefit that is the elimination of bad odors in wastewater treatment plants; which are a major source of public complaints.
